Lecturer of Home Economics Theory and Didactics @ School of Natural Sciences and Health at Tallinn University

Areas of expertise:

Sustainable consumption of citizens; home economics; STE(A)M pedagogy and subject didactics; professional development of student teachers.

Kristi is a lecturer of home economics and didactics at TLU. She teaches various subjects, including sustainable development issues in home economics areas. Her research field is learning and teaching of home economics, in her doctoral thesis she focused on home economics teacher education and teacher students’ professional development. Kristi has also participated in the development process of the national curriculum for basic schools in Estonia.


Cluster related projects:

• Education and Youth Board project “Bridging STEAM practices and home economics in teacher education” (01.03.2024–28.02.2026). Promoting sustainable lifestyle.

• European commission Twinning project “STE(A)M for home economics and research exchange” (1.06.2024 - 31.05.2027). Promoting home economics education as a tool for giving knowledge in sustainability issues.

• Erasmus/Education and Youth Board. Bridging STEAM practices and home economics in teacher education (STEAMKitchen) 2024-2026
